Andrew's on the Move!

I attempted to take weekly pictures of Andrew. Lately, I've had a lot of problems since he's become interested in the paper. Unfortunately, I took over 20 pictures and none of them showed both the date & his face.

He was very excited that Mom let him play with the paper.

In the last couple weeks, Andrew has learned so many new things. He started scooting around 8-1/2 months. It is more like an army crawl, using his left arm and right leg to move forward. A few days after learning how to scoot, he was laying on his belly and backed himself-up into a sitting position. Now he is a pro at sitting himself upright.

Fortunately, Andrew has been pretty healthy, until he got his first cold last week. We visited the doctor on Thursday and he had a double ear infection. Mom & Dad took turns staying home from work for a couple days until his fever broke. When I arrived home from work Friday, Andrew was wearing a diaper and playing on the cool tile floor in front of the fireplace. The poor little guy had a constrant stream of liquid running down his face (runny nose and drool).

He discovered the fireplace grates. He is able to pull the grates off the fireplace, exposing the wires. Tim's first attempt to cover the grate was to cover it with a piece of cardboard. It worked for a couple hours until Andrew discovered the cardboard. Our 2nd attempt is to create a blockade using pillows... so far so good as long as he doesn't kick the pillows.
Loves to make noise!

Today, he ventured out of the living room and into the kitchen. He was excited to find a new toy, but got upset because it was attached and he could not pick it up. Everybody loves a good doorstop!

Vacation in Savannah

We spent some time on vacation in Savannah GA. It was the longest time we've spent away from Andrew, and we definitely missed him! Both Grandma Bergman & Grandma Meier watched Andrew while we were away!

We stayed in a vacation rental house for the week. The inside was very cute, looked like a model home straight from HGTV.

We spent two days at Tybee Island soaking-up the sun.

The lighthouse on Tybee island is one of the oldest on the eastern seaboard. After 178 steps, and several breaks, we made it up to the top for some great views.

Savannah is one of the oldest cities in the country and we especially liked walking around the historic district. There were so many impressive old mansions and huge live oak trees, parks and monuments, it would take a month to see it all.

We spent a most of our evenings on River Street. The old buildings and cotton warehouses along the riverfront are now home to all kinds of bars and restaurants.
In Savannah, it is legal to have an open container. You could request a to-go-cup, and take your drink anywhere. Tim took full advantage of that. Sometimes he would get a beer to go, just because he could. With that into consideration, the city was amazingly clean.

We met Ted Bergman's twin. He was the singer of the band in one the bars we stopped at. From across the room, he had a remarkable resemblence. We laughed so hard just watching his moves and mannerisms that we swore we were looking at Ted.

He was happy to pose for a picture. Thumbs up, of course.

We had a great time on vacation and got some much needed time away from all the hustle and bustle, but this time it was different. We were very anxious to get back home and see our little guy and his big smiles.

New Tricks

In the last few week, Andrew has learned a few new "tricks." He learned how to pick-up a puff off his highchair tray and successfully put it into his mouth. After eating a few, it becomes difficult when the puffs stick to his fingers. He is doing a great job sitting-up. He has more control and is able to bounce and not fall over. He is not crawling yet. He will move one arm, the other arm, kick his legs, but he can't seem to get things moving all together.

Rub-A-Dub-Dub

Rub-A-Dub-Dub.
Andrew loves the tub!

He loves to splash!

Having so much fun!

We've been trying for over a week to get a picture of Andrew's two bottom teeth. It's not perfect, but the best yet. If you right-click the picture, you can see a larger image.

Visiting Marcus

Andrew & I went to Indy the day after Easter to visit baby Marcus. Marcus is so cute and so little. It is hard to believe Andrew was that small only 7 months ago!

We took the boys on a stroller ride around the neighborhood. The boys were exhausted after the walk.

Happy Easter!

We had a great Easter weekend spending some time with our family. We had the Meier Easter on Saturday evening. Within 5 days of his 1st tooth, Andrew's second also popped through. Cousin Ben was generous to lend a finger for Andrew to chew.

For each holiday, Grandma's toy bin is emptied on the floor and the kids jump in. This year, Andrew joined in the fun.

Sunday brunch was at Grandma Bergman's house. The grandkids were too busy playing with their new toys, so a group picture was out of the question...

New Stuff!

Another exciting week! On Sunday March 28th, Andrew got a new cousin, Marcus Ryan Dippold. He was 7lbs 12oz and 21" long. That bumps-up Grandma Meier's count to 2 girls & 4 boys! We can't wait to see both Marcus & Grace this weekend.

Andrew had another milestone on Wednesday, March 31st (29 weeks). His first tooth popped through his gums! Both Mom & Dad were caught by surprise. Maybe that is why he's been trying to chew our fingers...
